The Bridgeway Foundation counters terrorism in high conflict zones such as Central Africa and Ukraine in order to end genocide.
This particular project was a poster series that was displayed at an event for high-ranking leaders and diplomats of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Much of the terrorism is concentrated in this country, so when captives are rescued they are immediately sent home to their respective countries––often the DRC.
Al Shifa Home is a rehabilitation center operated by The Bridgeway Foundation and located in Uganda. They spend months successfully rehabilitating captives who have been forced to fight for ISIS before sending them home to restart their lives. However, the DRC government wanted these people returned immediately to the DRC, but Bridgeway had to convince them to allow the captives to stay in Uganda at the center for several months for the best chance at rehabilitation.
These posters were mounted on easels at the event as self guided visual aids and also accompanied the speaker's presentation. I was the sole designer and also designed within brand colors and colorblind constraints as best as possible.
The event was successful and the DRC government now allows those rescued to stay in Uganda for rehabilitation.
